John & Audrey look forward to welcoming you to The Red House which is situated in the tiny hamlet of Newton Wamphray, just eight miles from Moffat, and 1.5 miles off the M74 at Junction 16 (B7076 Johnstonebridge road turn right towards Beattock) on the banks of the river Annan. We offer a hearty welcome and comfortable Bed & Breakfast accommodation throughout the year. Dinner and packed lunches are available by arrangement and special diets can be catered for (please mention when booking)
The House is idyllically situated with stunning views across the valley and makes an ideal base for exploring the Dumfries & Galloway and Borders regions with their many attraction .the picturesque towns of Moffat, Dumfries and Penrith, The Devils Beef Tub, Grey Mares Tail and Caerlaverock Castle to name a few.
Fishing is available just 400 metres away on the river Annan (permits available from us) with many other lochs & rivers in the area making it an ideal area for the keen angler.
  
The whole area is criss-crossed by bridal ways & paths making it a walkers paradise with enough wildlife (including Red Squirrels) to keep the photographer happy. After a busy day exploring you can relax in our garden & conservatory in the evening with a glass of malt whisky or fine wine. Well behaved pets are welcome
Our Rooms
We offer, double, single, twin & family rooms all of which have been recently refurbished & have ensuite or private facilities. Our Bed & Breakfast rate is £30 per person per night, children under 5 are free, children between the ages of 5 and 12 sharing their parents room are half price. We also offer a 10% discount on stays of four nights or more.
